Horsham Normandy W.I .were keen to engage with the Big Green Week activities ( 18-26 Sept 2021) as part of the Climate Coalition.

We decided to create a couple of colourful displays to be seen about Horsham and whilst observing the social distancing requirements of early summer, we were occupied making colourful pompoms.

We used these to decorated the tree we had previously planted with in Horsham Parks, Human Nature Garden.

To interpret the various environmental campaigns of the W.I. we created some of the pompoms as birds and bees.

Other pompoms created a bright corner in the surrounding hedgerow.

Other members knitted a Climate Change scarf and temperature scale bunting to graphically illustrate the increasing temperatures of the U.K.

These were displayed in the library with an explanation of the W.I.’s concerns and engagement for our environment.

We are pleased that this display has drawn a positive response from the public and started a constructive conversation about the changes we can make for good.
