The NFWI suggested we get together to take part in the “Great Get Together.” This annual event encourages us to come together and talk, to realise that we have more in common than divides us.

Horsham Normandy WI thought it would finally be a chance to meet in person after more than a year of social distancing.

A central, local venue, with lots of outside seating was agreed upon. The invites went out. The temperatures rose and rose but not to worry there was shelter from the sun, we would be protected.

The day before was damp, the rain had started, but we were assured that Friday would be better.

However, the rain arrived, in torrents.

But twenty members also arrived and had a great time. We were so grateful for those canopies which shielded us from the worst of the rain.

We had a wonderful time and agreed to do it again, very soon, but with less rain if possible next time.
