Community crafting

After the summer success of the synthetic textile decoration of the Carfax Bandstand to highlight plastic pollution, we set about recycling the knitted & crocheted strips.

After they were washed & sorted we decided to make blankets for a local animal shelter and a children’s orphanage in Africa.

This was a group effort at our re-instated craft meetings held at the John Lewis Community Space.

This light and airy area enables us to meet, socialise and craft.

A couple of hours stitching produced a colourful array of blankets to be donated, with a few more to follow.

A fun, productive time for all.
